Is coffee good for you?
This coffee trivia question has been around since at least 1674 when English women said that coffee made their men impotent. Since then medical science has been working to prove or disprove the link.
According to Mark Klebanoff of the National Institute of Child Health in the USA if their was something terrible about coffee “We would have found it by now. It didn’t take us long to figure out that cigarettes were bad for you”. Most of our visitors are aware that a shot of coffee in the morning will give us a stimulating effect. According to an article in New Scientist magazine (January 2000) caffeine makes us feel alert by blocking the brains receptors for a brain chemical called adenosine. This is a similar effect to what occurs naturally in pleasurable situations. What happens when we don’t get our daily hit of coffee. Symptoms differ between people but often include headaches, low concentration, fatigue and drowsiness. Even the smallest amount of caffeine has been shown to give people a lift ie even decaffeinated coffee will quench the bodies desire for caffeine.
